How do I turn on the filter?
Open Settings > Messages > Unknown & Junk and turn on Escudo. From then on, iOS passes Escudo the SMS from numbers you do not have saved in contacts.
Why are messages not deleted?
iOS does not allow it, and honestly it is better this way. Instead of deleting them, Escudo sets them aside in the Junk folder, where they do not bother you but are still there if you ever need to check them.
How do I share Escudo with my family?
Familiar is shared through Apple Family Sharing. In your iPhone settings tap your name, then Family Sharing, and add up to five people. Each one installs the Escudo app from the App Store with their own Apple ID and is protected. One subscription covers the whole family.
How do I cancel Familiar?
From your Apple account settings, in two taps. Apple handles the charge, so the subscription is canceled right there and stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.
Why did a scam reach the main inbox?
Three common reasons. If you ever replied to that number, iOS stops filtering that conversation forever: an Apple rule no app can change. If the message arrived over iMessage or RCS, filters never see it: iOS only shows them SMS and MMS. And a very new scam can get through before the rules update: report it from the app so it protects everyone.
Does it filter WhatsApp?
No. iOS only allows filtering SMS, so WhatsApp, iMessage and other apps are outside what Escudo can see.
